(For those of you who don't speak Italian, this says Hello, Bonjour, Princesses and Princes!!! –but you have to imagine it being spoken in a very melodious, dulcet, upbeat charming way.)

I have worked for the past 12 years for a prominent liberal US politician. Won't say who now. When I eventually leave I'll disclose…But I'm planning on leaving soon to become the greatest acupuncturist in the world:)

You may be wondering what my moniker Lamed Vavnick Wannabe means. Well, you know what a wannabe is. Lamed Vav in Hebrew is the number 36. There is a tradition in Judaism which states that there are 36 people who, because of their righteousness, hold up the world; the world remains in existence because of them. Every action they take, every word they speak, every thought they think is with the intention of making this world a better place. Their compassion, empathy, utter selflessness, kindness, caring, generosity and love know no limits.

This is who/what I strive to be. But I'm a wannabe because I consistently fall short and am nowhere near that level….

This paragraph from Marcus Aurelius also inspires me to reach beyond myself. - “Maximus set an example of self-mastery, steadiness of purpose, and good cheer that no circumstance, not even illness could extinguish. I love this description of Clara Urquhart (she worked with Albert Schweitzer in Lambarene) - “You didn't have to be with Clara Urquhart very long to know that this slight, dark woman possessed a rare combination of intensity of feeling with calmness of manner. She knew how to establish rapport in ten minutes that would take some people ten weeks. Also, she had the art of absolute relevance. When she listened, you had the feeling that all her energy was being mobilized in absorbing every sound and capturing your total intent. And when she spoke, she would address herself with precision to your questions or the things that interested you - and frequently to the thought behind your questions.”
